- All correction requests are reviewed within ten business days.
- If an error is confirmed, we will:
- Correct the content promptly;
- Add a dated correction note describing what was changed; and
- For significant factual corrections, publish a notice at the top of the article.
- If the issue concerns interpretation or unsettled law, we may add an explanatory note clarifying differing views or current status.
How We Note Corrections
Minor corrections (typos, formatting): fixed silently unless the meaning was affected.
Factual corrections: added inline note, e.g.
[Updated 2025-10-14: Corrected citation to reflect Fifth Circuit holding in [Case Name].]
Significant corrections: prominent notice at the top of the article, e.g.
CORRECTION (2025-10-14): This article originally misstated [incorrect statement]. It has been corrected to [accurate statement]. We regret the error.
Updates vs. Corrections
- Updates reflect changes in the law or new developments after publication and are labeled “Updated [Date]”.
- Corrections address errors present in the original version and are labeled “Correction” or “Corrected [Date]”.
Transparency and Editorial Independence
Promise Legal maintains full editorial independence. We do not accept sponsored content or outside influence over our legal analysis. Every article is reviewed for accuracy and clarity.
